SOQHA Challenge Concludes With 4,700 AQHA Entries Over Two Days!

By: Brittany Bevis,  The Equine Chronicle A  challenge  of sorts was presented to the show management team of the Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association Challenge. How many entries can one show hold in just two days? The answer may surprise you… The two-day event that took place at the World Equestrian Center in Wilmington, Ohio over the weekend recorded almost 1,200 AQHA entries per judge. With four judges, that added up to nearly 4,700 AQHA entries alone! And that number doesn’t include NSBA entries. Judges for the show were Jeff Mellott, Ryan Kail, Brad Kearns, Curtis Reynolds, John Boxell, Allen Mitchels, TW Grose, and Steve Meadows. One of the highlights of the show each year is the SOQHYA Scholarship Challenge.

Ohio Youth take top honors at Level 1 East Championship

Article by Natalie Hilty The Nutrena East Novice Championship Show was a success! Held here in Wilmington, Ohio at the World Equestrian Center, the entries more than doubled from 2017 to make for a spectacularly large and exciting show. The biggest class of the show was the Novice Youth 14-18 Showmanship with a whopping 115 entries. Because of the huge gain in entries this year in 2018, the Ohio youth have decided to provide you with 11 different perspectives from this show. We had youth from way down south, over in Pennsylvania, New York, and even up north in Canada who chose to show at the Novice Championships in Ohio this year! OMIQHA show a success!

By Natalie Hilty A HUGE thank you to the Ohio Michigan Indiana Quarter Horse Association for hosting a certainly exciting show this past weekend (April 14-15) and to Eden Park Equestrian Center for providing the facility in which the exhibitors showed!   “The OMIQHA Warm Up Show” had every youth and amateur class, excluding open classes, available to exhibitors both Saturday and Sunday to make for a lengthy show that was definitely worth it as everyone had a chance to accumulate several points along the way. Class numbers were outstanding- around 20-30 entries per class and even over 40 entries in Novice Youth showmanship for both days.   Listed below are two questions answered by a few youth who showed in Sunbury

2019-21 Adequan® Select World Shows Move to Fort Worth

The American Quarter Horse Association, April 10, 2018 The American Quarter Horse Association has named  Will Rogers Memorial Center  in Fort Worth, Texas, as the new location for the 2019, 2020 and 2021  Adequan® Select World Championship Show.   The tentative dates for the 2019 Adequan® Select World are August 21-31.
