2021 SOQHA The Madness is a Wrap

The Madness, presented by SOQHA, lived up to its name in more than one way! More than 17,700 AQHA entries, more than 2900 NSBA Dual/Approved entries, more than 240 NSBA entries in the money classes and add in the Small Fry & other non-approved classes, made for an amazing run of shows. Sure, it could have been warmer to start, but the competition was HOT. The youth that showed will be in the finals of the Youth World in August. The Amateur and Select classes were some of the deepest seen in some time. SOQHA truly had horses and exhibitors from California to Maine. SOQHA hopes to see Canadian exhibitors back sooner than later. SOQHA thanks each and every person that showed, watched, attended, and hooted for the great

EOQHA April 24-25 Show Recap

EOQHA was able to host another great horse show on April 24th and 25th in Springfield, Ohio with entries again exceeding over 1,000 entries per judge at 1,046.  $100 Visa Gift cards were awarded to the high point winners in each division. EOQHA President, Brent Maxwell, would like to thank all that have supported the EOQHA April shows. Mid-Ohio Dressage Association Becomes an OQHA Affiliate

The Mid-Ohio Dressage Association (MODA) is honored to become an affiliate of the Ohio Quarter Horse Association. Through our affiliation with OQHA, MODA hopes to promote dressage to the owners and riders of the more than 40,000 AQHA horses in Ohio through clinics, shows, and educational opportunities. With both Classical and Western Dressage now being AQHA approved classes and being offered at the AQHA World Championship show, now is the time to learn more about the sport of dressage! A pop-up clinic, Dressage 101, will be held on Saturday, May 8, at Southwind Stables in Pataskala. Amy Rothe-Hietter will lead this afternoon of demonstration and lecture to introduce riders to classical and western dressage.

EOQHA First Show for 2021 Is In The Books

EOQHA opened their first show of the year in Springfield boasting a whopping 1,350 entries per judge! The large competitive classes made for a long day on Saturday running into early Sunday morning. In EOQHA fashion, they ran over 140 trail horses on Saturday with the pleasure and horsemanship were done by 7 on Sunday.  Ohio regional affiliates are working hard to make OQHA shows the best! Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association What a year so far! The SOQHA kicked off the 2021 show season with the SOQHA Challenge, held February 26-28 in Springfield, Ohio. This three-day show provided top-tier AQHA competition and awarded $10,000 in scholarship money to the youth. We finished the show with more than 2,800 entries! All the typical classes were hosted, with a few fun classes that consisted of the Youth/Trainer Boot Scramble, Youth Egg and Spoon Race, and Youth Three-Legged Race. The fun classes were limited to only those entered in the SOQHA Scholarship Challenge. Thank you to our exhibitors, judges, volunteers, and An Equine Production for a great show! OMIQHA Spring Warmup Show Recap

The first OMIQHA show is in the books. It was an amazing sold out show with 1349 entries per judge. OMIQHA had an arena full of participants for an Easter Egg Toss, with the winners receiving $250. They are looking forward to their next show June 11-13 at Springfield, and are currently working on revising the showbill to try and make it more streamline to lessen the show times on our participants. That’s a Wrap: Concluding the 2021 AQHA Convention

The 2021 AQHA Convention was held in an in-person business format in San Antonio to review the Association’s business matters to enhance the Association for members around the globe. The American Quarter Horse Association is an organization that works for its members and holds an  annual convention  each spring. 2021 Farnam AQHA World and Adequan® Select World Qualifying

  AQHA waives qualifying requirements, with an exception for the open-division roping, for the 2021 Farnam AQHA World and Adequan® Select World, due to the impact of the pandemic on qualifying events; traditional qualifying will resume for the 2022 AQHA championship shows.
