OMIQHA Spring Warm Up Show Recap

After 3 years of having Youth and Amateur classes only, OMIQHA was able to obtain a full complete showbill for our first show of the year. We had an awesome first show of the year despite lower that normal stall sales, but those that came really came to show with just about a thousand entries for the weekend. We had alot of new individuals showing at this show, we had a couple groups come down from New York state and several from Michigan, a few from Indiana, Pennsylvania, and from all corners of Ohio.  I want to thank all those that make our show what it is, we had a great arena crew, announcer, and show office crew. SOQHA The Challenge Kicks Off the 2020 Season

A great show ended with kids winning MONEY! Total entries were up more than 130 PER judge over last year. Finishing with nearly 2600 AQHA entries and very strong NSBA. OQHYA ANNUAL MEETING

    The OQHYA annual meeting took place this past Saturday. A group of more than 50 youth members joined to recap this past years accomplishments, plan for future events and work on community service projects. New OQHYA officers and directors were introduced. Members brainstormed potential fundraising opportunities and community service events, as well as discussing the new AQHA theme. Important dates involving OQHA, NYATT, and Youth World were noted. Before the meeting adjourned, members assembled twelve blankets to be sent to a local children's hospital.  Ten new members were welcomed to the meeting. 52 total youth members were in attendance.

2019 Awards Banquet In the Books

The 2019 Ohio Quarter Horse Awards Banquet held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Hilton Downtown Columbus was bigger than ever!  The banquet room was packed with more than 480 in attendance and awards presented to the 2019 OQHA award winners. Alexis Taylor, 2019 OQHA Queen, kicked off the night welcoming guests and inviting OQHA Director, Justin Billings and the 2019 Congress Queen, Mariah Sherer, to the stage  lead the attendees in an invocation before dinner. Book Your Hotel for Convention

Book your hotel room prior to February 20 for the 2020 AQHA Convention to receive a special rate. The   American Quarter Horse Association  is an organization that works for its members. Each spring, AQHA holds an annual convention to review member-submitted rule changes, appoint new AQHA directors, induct new members into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame and elect the AQHA Executive Committee. The  2020 AQHA Convention  is March 13-16 at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas. Register for Convention Register for convention by January 31 to avoid late fees. Attendees also have the option to purchase tickets for the Hall of Fame Induction and the Fabulous Foundation Party, hosted by the American Quarter Horse
