Judges Named for 2021 Ford Youth World

A prestigious list of judges is set for the 2021 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show. The American Quarter Horse Association is excited to announce the judges for the 2021  Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show  slated for July 28 - August 8 at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. The show will include Level 3, Adequan® Level 2,  Nutrena Level 1 youth classes  and 13-&-Under Level 3 core classes.  “We have brought together an outstanding roster of judges for one of the most prestigious events in the equine industry,” said Patti Carter, AQHA senior director of judges. “We look forward to the great competition at this year’s show.” The judges for the 2021 Ford Youth World are: Doug Allen of

EOQHA April 24-25 Show Recap

EOQHA was able to host another great horse show on April 24th and 25th in Springfield, Ohio with entries again exceeding over 1,000 entries per judge at 1,046.  $100 Visa Gift cards were awarded to the high point winners in each division. Mid-Ohio Dressage Association Becomes an OQHA Affiliate

The Mid-Ohio Dressage Association (MODA) is honored to become an affiliate of the Ohio Quarter Horse Association. Through our affiliation with OQHA, MODA hopes to promote dressage to the owners and riders of the more than 40,000 AQHA horses in Ohio through clinics, shows, and educational opportunities. With both Classical and Western Dressage now being AQHA approved classes and being offered at the AQHA World Championship show, now is the time to learn more about the sport of dressage! A pop-up clinic, Dressage 101, will be held on Saturday, May 8, at Southwind Stables in Pataskala. Amy Rothe-Hietter will lead this afternoon of demonstration and lecture to introduce riders to classical and western dressage.

Recap of OQHYA's April Meeting & Educational Event

On April 12th, the Ohio Quarter Horse Youth Association held their first in-person meeting since the Covid pandemic began. The meeting was held at the Ohio Quarter Horse headquarters with remote Zoom options available. The meeting started as usual with the completion of ordinary business. After the conclusion of the business meeting, the educational event began. Kelly Richmond Pope is the Creator of the film "All the Queens Horses," and US Marshall Jason Wojdylo joined via zoom. They discussed the investigation and gave background information into the arrest and convictions in the Rita Crundwell case and so many details around the custody, care, and sale of so many horses. EOQHA First Show for 2021 Is In The Books

EOQHA opened their first show of the year in Springfield boasting a whopping 1,350 entries per judge! The large competitive classes made for a long day on Saturday running into early Sunday morning. In EOQHA fashion, they ran over 140 trail horses on Saturday with the pleasure and horsemanship were done by 7 on Sunday.  Ohio regional affiliates are working hard to make OQHA shows the best! Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association What a year so far! The SOQHA kicked off the 2021 show season with the SOQHA Challenge, held February 26-28 in Springfield, Ohio. This three-day show provided top-tier AQHA competition and awarded $10,000 in scholarship money to the youth. We finished the show with more than 2,800 entries! All the typical classes were hosted, with a few fun classes that consisted of the Youth/Trainer Boot Scramble, Youth Egg and Spoon Race, and Youth Three-Legged Race. The fun classes were limited to only those entered in the SOQHA Scholarship Challenge. Thank you to our exhibitors, judges, volunteers, and An Equine Production for a great show! Southern Belle Breeder’s Classes Added to the NEW A Sudden Impulse NSBA & Futurity Show

The Ohio Quarter Horse Association (OQHA) is excited to announce the addition of the new A Sudden Impulse NSBA & Futurity show to the Southern Belle Breeders’ program. Entries are now open for the A Sudden Impulse NSBA and Futurity, which takes place April 23-May 1, 2021 at the new World Equestrian Center - Ocala. A Sudden Impulse NSBA and Futurity horse show is managed by Peak-Equine Productions and sanctioned by the National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA). It will feature more than 160 classes in 16 divisions, along with more than $360,000 in added prize money.
