This year’s Little Buckeye and Buckeye Classic was held at the World Equestrian Center in Wilmington for the first time and saw a sizable increase over last year, making it the largest event yet for both OAQHA and BWHA. In addition to the new facility, much of the growth can be attributed to the full slate of Level 1, 2 and 3 classes along with Rookie Highpoint and New AQHA Exhibitor Saddle giveaways. $100,000 in free entries and prizes didn’t hurt either, something unique to the Buckeye. Some 15 first time exhibitors attended the show who were all in their first year showing AQHA, which made OAQHA and BWHA very proud. This year’s AQHA Convention was held March 11-14 at the incredible South Point Hotel and Equestrian Center in Las Vegas. Our Ohio Amateurs made sure what happened in Vegas didn’t just stay in Vegas. Each of the five members who attended were active in the marketing and show committee meetings, as well as supportive of AQHA’s Foundation and PAC benefits. They brought back with them insight into AQHA’s strategic mission of remaining innovative in an ever changing world that presents constant challenges to our industry.
