Say YES to Fun

Check out the new activities planned for the 2017 Bank of America Youth Excellence Seminar July 11-13.

The American Quarter Horse Association is proud to announce new and exciting events for the 2017 Bank of America Youth Excellence Seminar July 11-13 in Amarillo. The deadline to register is June 1.

A Mix ‘n’ Mingle event has been added to the schedule, allowing participants to meet other youth from around the world. The event is set for Tuesday afternoon, July 11, at the Holiday Inn and is hosted by the 2016-17 AQHYA officer and director team.

YES attendees will make an impact on the Texas Panhandle as they volunteer with local service organization Snack Pak 4 Kids. Attendees will be escorted to the service leadership activity and experience what it means to make an impact.

Motivational speaker Rick Rigsby will give a keynote address Wednesday, July 12, titled, “Make an Impact, Not Just an Impression.” Rigsbyis president and CEO of Rick Rigsby Communications. Through motivational speaking, corporate coaching, books and social media outlets, he encourages and empowers audience members to become great people who do great things. He is the former character coach and chaplain for the Texas A&M University football team.

Chase Glenn, a former AQHYA board member and current CEO of New Beginnings Adolescent Recovery Center, will give the second keynote address on Thursday, July 13, in the Civic Center ballroom. Glenn credits his involvement in AQHYA as the key to his professional success.

Throughout the week, exciting activities and breakout sessions are planned to keep participants engaged. These sessions allow youth to be active and learn leadership skills that will serve them as AQHYA members and future AQHA industry leaders.

This event will be the highlight of your year. What better way to spend time with fellow AQHYA members?

Registration for YES is $110 for current AQHYA and AQHA members if registered by June 1. Nonmembers can still participate in this leadership opportunity; nonmember registration is $125 if registered by June 1. Registrations received after the deadline will by charged a $25 late fee and will be subject to availability. Registration fees do include meals.
