AQHA Incentive Fund to Cease Stallion, Foal Nominations

The incentive program will see its last payouts in the next few years. The American Quarter Horse Association, August 3, 2017  As a means to conclude the program, the  American Quarter Horse Association Incentive Fund  will not accept foal nominations past 2018 and, effective immediately, will no longer accept stallion nominations.  “The AQHA Incentive Fund was a landmark program for the equine industry, having paid out more than $80 million in its lifetime,” said AQHA Chief Show Officer Pete Kyle. “The fund was so successful that it became a model for many others. However, multiple factors in the past decade contributed to the Incentive Fund’s decline.” Ultimately, a lack of participation led the AQHA Executive

Foundation Golf Outing raises money for scholarship fund

More than 50 Ohio Quarter Horse Association members and friends of the Ohio Quarter Horse Foundation were feeling extra giving during the Annual Buckeye Open Golf Outing on Monday at Snow Hill Country Club.    The 15-team event, held traditionally between the Little Buckeye and Buckeye Classic  shows, raised more than $12,000 overall to fund scholarships for OQHA youth members. While the outing as a whole was fun, hole 16 was nothing short of interesting as scholarship recipients presented golfers with a challenge. Participants could make a generous donation to avoid the challenge and tee off behind a tree located way before the actual men’s tee, or spin for a chance to move up by dressing up for a photo shoot.
