OQHYA Annual Meeting and Award Banquet is a Success

The Ohio Quarter Horse Youth Association (OQHYA) conducted their annual meeting, February 6, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel before the Ohio Quarter Horse Association (OQHA) Annual Awards Banquet.  Thirty-six youth members attended the annual meeting including eight new members. The youth enjoyed pizza and cookies while they brainstormed ideas for fundraising, how to increase youth membership, and community services/outreach programs. Officers and Directors were also voted and appointed. After the meeting, they enjoyed playing “Minute To Win It” games.

The OQHYA made an exceptional impression at the Annual Awards Banquet. While simultaneously mingling with the crowd, various youth members sold 50/50 and Exmark lawn mower raffle tickets. They were also able to obtain twenty-six trainers for the OQHYA Trainer Silent Auction, who donated their services for a month of training. The auction transpired during the Annual Awards Banquet.

Many OQHYA members were awarded with high point and year-end awards for their outstanding 2015 show season, including Olivia Tordoff who was presented with the 2015 OQHYA Sportsmanship Award.
