OQHYA Annual Meeting and Award Banquet is a Success

  The Ohio Quarter Horse Youth Association (OQHYA) conducted their annual meeting, February 6, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel before the Ohio Quarter Horse Association (OQHA) Annual Awards Banquet.  Thirty-six youth members attended the annual meeting including eight new members. The youth enjoyed pizza and cookies while they brainstormed ideas for fundraising, how to increase youth membership, and community services/outreach programs. Officers and Directors were also voted and appointed. After the meeting, they enjoyed playing “Minute To Win It” games. The OQHYA made an exceptional impression at the Annual Awards Banquet. Ohio youth named AQHYA president

New AQHYA officers and directors for 2018-19 were named June 30 during the Bank of America Youth Excellence Seminar in Bryan, Texas. Candidates went through an interview process, gave speeches and were asked questions throughout the seminar. Name: Lilly Ehrman   Where were you born and raised & live now I was born and raised in Steubenville Ohio and grew up on my family farm where I live now.  It’s been owned by our family since 1892.  My husband Dustin and I raised our 2 children on the farm where we raise hay, some row crops, have about 20 commercial cows and we also have 50 sows and raise show pigs. Our oldest child Harley is active in our farm and show pig business.  My grandfather was an American Saddlebred trainer and so far we have had 4 generations of our family show horses.
