The 2008 Region 4 Regional Experience
will be held in Columbus, Ohio, July 17-20, 2008.
Miscellaneous Show Rules
Order of Work
1. All participants in classes requiring individual work must go in the order drawn, or be disqualified.
Display of Exhibitor Numbers
2a. Numbers will be assigned to each horse at the time of entry, which shall stand for the entire show, and must be displayed whenever the horse is in the ring.
2b. Hunter Under Saddle exhibitors must use saddle pads with numbers on both sides in all classes.
Responsibility for Entry Errors
3. All entires shall be made by the exhibitor or his or her agent and no animal may be admitted for exhibition unless the entry blank is duly signed by the exhibitor or agent. Errors on entry forms are teh responsibility of the exhibitor and cannot be changed at the show.
Liability for Loss or Damage
4. The Horse Show Committee assumes no responsibility in case of loss or damage to persons, horses or personal property, from any cause, and upon this condition only are entries accepted.
Right of Removal
5. The Committee reserves the right to prohibit any person or horse from showing, or attending any horse in the show ring, and to remove any person or horse from the grounds without being liable for compensation.
Right of Cancellation
6. The Region 4 Regional Experience reserves the right to cancel these events without notice and without liability any time prior to the contests. In this case, all fees will be refunded.
Payment Policy
7. Entries are not officially made until entry checks clear the bank. A penalty of a $25 check processing fee will be charged for any NSF check.
Supervision of Exercise Areas
8. The make-up/exercise pens will be under the supervision of personnel appointed by show management who will have the sole discretion to eject any exhibitor from the said areas for inhumane treatment and/or training of their horse. Your cooperation will be expected.
Disputes
9. Any dispute as to operation of classes, matters of protocol, procedures in lab testing, show management issues, and all other issues, shall be decided by the Show Manager. The Show Manager's decision shall be final and considered acceptable by all exhibitors.
Pattern Booklets
10. Booklets containing patterns to be used for all individual work classes will be available to exhibitors upon arrival at the show.
Practice Sign Up for Hunters, Jumpers and Trail
11. Practice tiems will be posted. Individual practice times for over fence classes and Trail will be sold for ten minutes each. Watch for sign-up procedures to be posted upon arrival.
Who Can Compete
Regional Experiences are open to exhibitors and owners residing in the respective states or provinces comprising the region. The Region 4 Regional Experience is open to horses and exhibitors living in Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Ontario and West Virginia. Each exhibitor must be a current AQHA member and all horses must be AQHA registered. Horses and/or exhibiotrs may compete in only one Regional Experience per calendar year.
Who Cannot Compete
Exhibitors and horses are excluded from showing in any division (Open, Amateur, Youth or Novice) of any class in which they placed in the top ten at the 2007 AQHA World Show, AQHA Amateur World Show, AQHA Amateur Select World Show or AQHA Youth World Show. Additionally, horses or people who might advance to another class because of age and have placed in the top 10 at one of AQHA's World Shows in 2007 cannot enter the same class at the Regional level. Exhibitors who placed top ten in a Halter class in any AQHA World Championship show listed previously are excluded from competing in any age class of the same sex division, including Open, Amateur or Youth divisions at the Regional Show. Example: winning a World top ten in Open Yearling Mares excludes the exhibitor from competing in any Open, Amateur or Youth Mare class at this show.
Health Papers
Ohio Horses - a negative EIA (Coggins) test within the past 12 monthsis required. (RV 901:1-18-08)
Horses Entering Ohio for Exhibition - Certificate of Veterinary Inspection within 30 days of the opening date of exhibitions (July 17, 2008) and evidence of a negative EIA (Coggins) test within twelve months. The EIA test results shall be listed on the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection or on an EIA Test form (ORC 901:1-18-08)
ATTENTION: Do not send CVI or EIA papers with your entries. Ohio Department of Agriculture officials will inspect your papers on the grounds.
Early Arrival/Late Departure
The earliest any horses will be permitted to enter the Ohio Expo Center for the Region 4 Regional Experience is 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2008.
The latest any horses may remain on the show grounds will be two hours after the completion of the final class of the show. If there are extenuating circumstances for specific exhibitors, those exhibitors must get permission from Show Management in advance.
