Well, it is finally starting to happen. The birds are singing their glorious songs in the mornings again, there are sightings of robins, and our furry equine friends are beginning to shed their winter coats. I am sure all of you, just like me, are also beginning to get cabin fever. This sure seems to have been one of the longest winters in record, at least in my eyes. Snow is really beginning to be a “dirty word.” I am ready for the nice days of spring.
The faithful group of OMIQHA members gathered together again at the University of Findlay Western Farm for our March meeting. More details for the show were discussed. There were lots of new ideas tossed around for an exhibitor’s party on Saturday after everyone is done showing. Two things were decided and one is a “cheater’s egg and spoon” and the other is going to be a doggie/owner relay race. Allie Maag will chair the committee on the party. Nancy Venecutter and Angie Bush will be helping her out. I am sure they would love suggestions. Be watching for more information in the future OMI reports.
We would like to thank our generous sponsorships that have been coming in. There will be a full list in the next report as well. The Hampton Inn is our official hotel for the show and there are plenty of other hotels nearby too. There will also be camping available.
Two director positions were filled, one due to a resignation and the other due to an oversight that the person was already a director. Kim Walter will take the spot left open by Sara Warwick's resignation and Kelly Gibson will fill the extra open spot. Thank you ladies.
We look forward to seeing everyone next month, same time - 7:30 on the second Monday of the month. Bring your ideas. We would love to hear them. You can also check us out at our website www.omiquarterhorse.com. See you next month.
