OAQHA offers annual scholarships for OAQHA members who are attending a technical or four-year college. The application process requires candidates to submit a letter of recommendation from a person with a horse-related background and also from an academic advisor, professor, career counselor, etc. All applications are judged on the following:

Academic Achievements (30%)
Past OAQHA Participation (20%)
Current OAQHA Participation (25%)
Involvement with AQHA (5%)
Horse or Community-Related  Involvement (5%)
Parental, Guardian, Children or Family Involvement in OAQHA, OQHYA or OQHA (5%)
School and Career Goals (5%)
Personal Interview (5% if three or more applicants within 5% of each other or at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee)
