Attention World-Show Bound Youth
All OQHYA members that are heading to the AQHYA World Championship Show, August 1-9: Make sure you have all your paperwork properly filed with Betty Flarida!

Also, everyone MUST bring two or more fans for EACH of their horses... as well as one fan for you and your family in the aisle and/or tack stall. (This is a total of THREE fans if you are bringing one horse). Due to the heat, the youth association is also requiring that each horse has at least two full water buckets in their stall at all times.

And... don't forget to bring your horse's ORIGINAL papers (copies will not work), current Coggins and current health papers.

Lastly, please remember to bring items for the OQHYA Hospitality Booth.

To all the youth members making the trip to Oklahoma City... Good Luck!

Congress Parking Pass Raffle
The Ohio Quarter Horse Youth Association is raffling off Congress Parking Passes as a fundraiser this year. They will raffle off approximately 20 whole-show parking passes, starting immediately. The raffle will end before the AQHA entries are due for the 2008 Congress (August 25). Tickets will be $5 each, and can be purchased through any OQHYA member at any OQHYA meeting or horse show.

OQHYA Upcoming Meetings
OQHYA will hold their next meeting on August 18. All youth that would like to participate on the OQHYA Congress Youth Team must attend the August meeting!

The Ohio Quarter Horse Youth Association will not hold a meeting in July. They will take this month off so that everyone has enough time to fully prepare for the AQHYA World Championship Show in Oklahoma City, which will be held August 1-9.

In August, OQHYA will meet August 18 at 7:00 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel in Columbus (I-270 and 23 N).

All youth that would like to participate on the OQHYA Congress Youth Team must attend the August meeting!

Fundraising
From now on, the youth association will donate specific items at each of the monthly meetings. If you cannot make it to that month’s meeting and would still like to donate, please give the item to one of the officers to turn in for you.

August: Horse supplies for a handy cap horse back riding camp
September: Gloves, hats, scarves to the needy
October: Food, spices, soda, soup for battered women
November: Toothbrushes, Kleenex, toothpaste, cotton swabs, shampoo, soap, toilet paper for the needy
