At the September OQHA board of directors meeting, the board approved a request by the Horse Show Advisory Committee to appropriate $15,000 toward an incentive program to be presented at 2008 Ohio AQHA shows. Under the program, EOQHA, NOQHA and SOQHA will receive $4,000 each and BSQHA, OMIQHA and OAQHA will receive $1,000 each in the form of $100 vouchers. The show managements will choose a weekend horse show to present the incentive awards to OQHA members in classes of five or more entries in youth, amateur and Select amateur divisions. Show managements will have the ability to choose the classes and the placings to receive the incentive fund vouchers, using one voucher per class. The vouchers can be given to any OQHA member in the class and are not restricted to a specific placing in any class. Each horse show exhibitor is limited to winning one voucher per weekend, and must be an OQHA member to receive the voucher. Any left over vouchers could be used by the associations at a future shows. Vouchers will be submitted to the OQHA office for payment and tracking of the program.
