Porta-Cools and Stall Mats It is certain to be a warm one in Oklahoma this year so we encourage everyone to plan ahead.   If you are wanting to rent a Porta-Cool or stall mats we suggest you do so by July 24 th . Annual Foundation Golf Outing

It was a steamy day but everyone had a great day of golf.  The Ohio Quarter Horse Foundation thanks all of our sponsors for making it our most successful golf outing on record.  It was great to have some of our scholarship recipients represented yesterday; a huge shout out to Cora Wyers, Olivia Tordoff, Tori Kendle, and Alexia Tordoff! Thank you also to DKM Construction - Dennis and Debbie Martin and Kylee Wiseman for being the event sponsor.  Irongate Quarter Horses generously sponsored the refreshment carts and Buckeye Nutrition stepped up again as a sponsor for the golf outing and sponsored the lunches for all of the golfers.  Jet Inc. First-Ever Little Buckeye and YEDA Classic a Success

Many people have attended the Little Buckeye in years past, enjoying the weekend show in Wilmington, OH. This year, the iconic show made some changes that made for a great experience and lots of fun for exhibitors! The Little Buckeye and YEDA Classic was held July 11-15 at Eden Park in Sunbury, OH. The Little Buckeye is facilitated by the Ohio Amateur Quarter Horse Association and for the 2019 show, they partnered with the Youth Equestrian Development Association to create a three-day horse show that was approved for AQHA, OQHA, EOQHA, OMIQHA, NOQHA, NSBA, and YEDA points. The show featured both AQHA and YEDA classes, including the very popular lead line class! Some other fun features of the show were the Dog Race,

Record Attendance at NOQHA Summer Six Pack

  The NOQHA Summer Six Pack had 6 judges over 4 days and the show was up 1,125 entries from last year! This was the largest NOQHA Six Pack in the history of the club. The exhibitors enjoyed a taco dinner on Friday and an exhibitor cookout on Saturday. Buckeye Feed provided bagels and scons for the exhibitors on Saturday and Sunday. NOQHA offered coffee and donuts in the morning in the office as well as free water during the show. Circuit and Member awards were provided in all classes as well as All Around Champion and Reserve prizes. Thank you Schneiders Saddlery for donating the Member awards. Chris Darnell and her staff at Simply Show Services managed the successful show. Results are available on our website at noqha.com.

2019 OQHA Annual Picnic

The Ohio Quarter Horse Association (OQHA) held its annual picnic Monday, June 17th. Some 150 people were in attendance for some home made pork and bratwursts prepared by the OQHA staff as well as many delightful side dishes brought by fellow members. The Ohio  Quarter Horse Youth Association (OQHYA), Ohio Amateur Horse Association (OAQHA) and OQHA board members gathered for a picnic style meal and yard games at 5:30 p.m. followed by the individual monthy board meetings at 7 p.m. Thank you to Kyle Flatter and Matt Claypool for manning the grill throughout the hot night! Zips Bossy Chip

An 11-year-old American Quarter Horse mare has earned the most points in American Quarter Horse Association history. Zips Bossy Chip has earned 6,039.5 points in AQHA youth and open competition combined through May 2019. She continues to accrue points with her owner, 18-year-old Ellexxah Maxwell of West Mansfield, Ohio. The record previously had been held by Harley D Zip, a 1995 bay gelding with 5,906.5 points in open, amateur, Select amateur and youth competition. Harley D Zip, owned by Highview Ranch Quarter Horses Inc. of Rapid City, South Dakota, is now retired from competition. NOQHA Spring Extravaganza - Sold Out Success

The Spring Extravaganza 4 judged show was up 860 entries from last year! The Level 1 Extravaganza Show on Monday was also up 75 entries. NOQHA sold out of stalls in February. The exhibitors enjoyed an Ice Cream Social on Sunday. Buckeye Feed provided bagels on Monday for the exhibitors. Coffee and donuts were available all mornings in the office.
