OQHA Honorary Director Jess Cecil Passes
The Ohio Quarter Horse Association regrets to relate the passing of OQHA Honorary Director Jess Cecil.
Jess Cecil became an OQHA Director in 1982, and was awarded an honorary directorship in 2006. His daughter, Chris Cecil Darnell, continues to serve OQHA and was elected to the office of First Vice President this year.
Jess Cecil passed in Florida late in the evening of Monday, March 5, 2012. Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 15th from 4 pm to 7 pm at Billow's Funeral Home, located at 85 N Miller Rd in Akron, Ohio.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, March 16th, beginning at 9:30 am at St. Hilary Church, located at 2750 W Market St in Fairlawn, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Jess Cecil Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Ohio Quarter Horse Association: PO Box 209, Richwood, Ohio 43344.
