OQHA Member Rich Wasiniak Passes

Rich Wasiniak of Nashport passed away on June 4, 2011 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus following a horse related accident at his stables on May 23, 2011

Rich retired from the Social Security Administration after 25 years to pursue his love of horses. He established Dillon Trails Stables where he began a successful career training horses and their riders. His love and respect of horses was felt by all who came to be a part of the DTS family.

Surviving is his wife, Sue Wasiniak; mother, Loretta Rodriquez, Nashport; father-in-law, Jim Jarvis, Uniontown, OH; two daughters, Melissa (Ryan) Felumlee, Nashport, and Kristen (K. C.) Gillespie, Medina, OH; and eight grandchildren, Conner, Kailey, Abby, Kody, Ryan, Macey, Patrick and Elizabeth. He also leaves behind two brothers, Ken Wasiniak, Sanibel Island, FL; Dan (Stacey) Wasiniak, Rohnert Park, CA; sister, Maureen (Jack) Nixon, Des Moines, IO; and three nieces, Madison, Jennifer and Morgan

There will be a celebration of his life, followed by a gathering of his family and friends, at 5:00pm Thursday, June 9, 2011 at More Life Church, 1718 E. Main St., Newark, OH.

In lieu of flowers, you may contribute to the Rich Wasiniak Benefit Fund at any Park National or Century National Bank location. This fund will be converted to a scholarship fund for equine 4-H members entering college.
