New 2012 Officers and Directors
At its annual meeting, held February 4, 2012 in Columbus, the Ohio Quarter Horse Association announced new officers and directors. Elected to office for 2012 are Dr. Scott Myers, President, Chris Cecil Darnell, First Vice President, and Hank Clason, Second Vice President.
The OQHA Board of Directors voted to fill Hank Clason’s remaining one-year term as director with Jeff James.
Past President Alan Potts was voted by the OQHA Board of Directors to fill Chris Cecil Darnell’s previous remaining one-year term on the executive committee. Chris will remain on the executive committee as First Vice President.
The membership elected the following returning directors to three-year terms: Bill Flarida, Elizabeth Gorski, Judd Paul and Brent Tincher, as well as newcomers Shane Watson and Randy Wilson.
The executive committee appointed the following to one-year terms on the board of directors: Rod Atherton, John Pickersgill, Todd Salome, Chuck Smith and Mike Vargo.
After serving for 39 years on the Ohio Quarter Horse Association Board of Directors, Wayne Erwin was appointed to the position of Honorary Director.
New Amateur Officers and Directors
Patrick Murty returns in 2012 as the OAQHA President, along with Marla Atherton as First Vice President, Justin Billings as Second Vice President, and Abby Pound as Treasurer. Chelsea Martz was elected as OAQHA Secretary, and Jennifer Sigman was elected as Reporter.
The following were elected to serve three-year terms on the OAQHA Board of Directors: Becca Dingus, Suzanne Guinsler, Kim Hatfield, Kristin Martin, Megan Masterson, Mike Yemc and Kate Zachrich.
2012 OQHYA Youth Officers and Directors
The Ohio Quarter Horse Youth Association election results were also announced at their annual meeting. The 2012 officers include Bailey Mierzejewski as President, Lacy Watson as Vice President, Lauren Diaz as Secretary, Brittany Harter as Treasurer and Charley Thiel as Reporter. The 2012 OQHYA directors elected to a one-year term include Emma Brown, Lindsay Brush, Caitlyn Colvin, Ellexxah Maxwell, Justin Melvin, Hannah Overmyer, Paul “Trey” Schwab III, Madison Thiel and Bridgett White.
