Congress Goes Pink on 10/22

Each year, the Congress Queen Contest at the All American Quarter Horse Congress hosts several events to benefit breast cancer survivors, including an auction during the Equine Chronicle Masters Event.

This year, the Congress Queen Contest is sponsoring the second annual Congress Goes Pink day on Saturday, October 22nd. Everyone, from judges and ring stewards to spectators and exhibitors are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer survivors.

Last year’s Congress Goes Pink was a huge success, with nearly every Congress employee sporting pink ties, hats and shirts. Hundreds of exhibitors and spectators also showed their support not only through their pink apparel, but by donating money to the Shirley Bowman Foundation, a program at Oklahoma University Cancer Institute that ensures every patient has the opportunity to meet with a registered dietician. Founded in 2006 by Shorty Kroger, of Shorty’s Caboy Hattery, the Shirley Bowman Foundation was created in memory of her sister, Shirley Bowman, who had died after fighting breast cancer.

The All American Quarter Horse Congress and the Congress Queens Contest is proud to support the Shirley Bowman Foundation and breast cancer survivors throughout the world.
