Region Four

Developed for people who have always wanted to try an AQHA Championship show but might not have felt comfortable, Regional Championships are held throughout ten regions of North America through a program established by the American Quarter Horse Association. These shows are guaranteed to provide you the ultimate AQHA showing experience while introducing you to the fun of an American Quarter Horse show.

The Region Four Regional Championship show is coordinated by the state affiliates of Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Ontario and West Virginia.

2012 Region 4 Regional Championships

The 2012 Region 4 Regional Championships will be held July 13-15 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Who Can Compete

Regional Championships are open to exhibitors and owners residing in the respective states or provinces comprising the region. The Region 4 Regional Championship is open to horses and exhibitors living in Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Ontario and West Virginia. Each exhibitor must be a current AQHA member and all horses must be AQHA registered. Horses and/or exhibitors may compete in one Regional Championship per calendar year.

Who Cannot Compete

Exhibitors and horses are excluded from showing in any division (open, amateur, youth or novice) of any class in which they placed in the top ten at the 2009 AQHA World Show, AQHA Amateur World Show, AQHA Amateur Select World Show or AQHYA World Championship Show. Additionally, horses or people who might advance to another class because of age and have placed in the top 10 at one of AQHA’s World Shows in 2009 cannot enter the same class at the regional level. Exhibitors who placed top ten in a halter class in any World Championship show listed previously are excluded from competing in any age class of the same sex division, including open, amateur or youth divisions, at the Regional show. Example: winning a World top ten in Open Yearling Mares excludes the exhibitor from competing in open, amateur or youth mare classes at this show.
