NRHA Class Fees, Premiums and Conditions
All NRHA classes will be presented with the C.R. Morrison Congress champion trophy as well as the NRHA bronze, and medallions through tenth place. The NRHA Futurity and Non-Pro Reining Stakes classes will present medallions through 15th place.
NRHA Championship Open Reining – Class 6600
Entry Fee: $300 + Judges Fee $35
Purse: $3,000 plus 70% of entry fees

NRHA Championship Intermediate Reining – Class 6605
Entry Fee: $100 + Judges Fee $25
Purse: $1,000 plus 70% of entry fees

Purse: $12,000 plus 77 1/2 percent of entry fees

a. Open to three-year-olds only (foals of 2004).
b. There will be one go-round and a finals. All horses will work in the go-round. The top 15 scoring horses, including ties, will advance to the finals. The top 10 scoring horses in the go-round will receive money as follows: 1 – $400, 2- $375, 3-350, 4-$325, 5-$300, 6-10 - $175 each.
c. In the finals, the top 15 scoring horses will be paid as follows: 1-17%, 2-14%, 3-10.5%, 4-9%, 5-8.5%, 6- 7.5%, 7-6.5%, 8-5.5%, 9-5%, 10 – 4.5%, 11 – 3.5%, 12-2.75%, 13-2.25%, 14-2%, 15-1.75%. These percentages will be figured using the remaining entry fees after deductions for payment of go-round money. The winners will be determined by the placings in the finals.
d. Go-Round – NRHA Pattern #8 will be used.
Finals – Pattern #5 will be used.
e. NRHA rules will prevail unless specific Congress rules differ from them. In this case, Congress rules will prevail.
*Limited Non-Pro Reining Stakes – Class 8816
Entry Fee $150
Purse: $3,000 plus 77 1/2 percent of entry fees
Estimated Purse $5,500.
NRHA Pattern #8 will be used
a. Open to three-year-olds only (foals of 2004).
b. *Limited Non-Pro class 8816 will run concurrently with Non-Pro class 8815 first go. Horses will be placed in the Limited Division based on their scores in the first go of class 8815.
c. You must enter class 8815 in order to enter 8816.
*NRHA Open Freestyle Reining – Class 6645
Entry Fee: $300 + Judges Fee $50
Purse: $17,500 plus 70% of entry fees
*NRHA Non-Pro Freestyle Reining – Class 6650
Entry Fee: $200 + Judges Fee $50
Purse: $2,000 plus 70% of entry fees
Classes 6645 and 6650 show concurrently.
Additional Notes About Freestyle Reining Classes
A.This class is for riders to create self-directed patterns to musical scores. Riders are encouraged to choose musical scores and costumes which permit them to show the athletic abilities of their horse in a crowd-appealing way. Two separate CDs or cassette tapes must be turned in to the Show Manager’s office in Celeste by noon, Friday, October 5. There will be a Freestyle Reining practice for contestants only Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. in the Coliseum with the audio staff present.
B. Rider chooses his or her own music; musical selections can be combined and edited to fit the freestyle pattern and time requirements.
Additional Notes About NRHA Classes
A. All riders and owners must be members of the National Reining Horse Association. Membership cards will be checked.
B. All horses must have a competition license issued by NRHA.
C. Three judges will judge the NRHA events with all three scores to be used.
D. Prize money checks will be made out to the owner and mailed to the owner.
