Other classes you are showing in at this Congress: I showed in the Roping Classic, the Open Tie-Down Classic and Youth Breakaway Roping. I was also Reserve Congress Champion with Squirt in Youth Tie-Down Roping.
Have you shown at the Congress before? Yes, I’ve shown here every year since 2003.
How long have you been showing? I have been riding all of my life and showing since I was about 12 years old.
Do you show with a trainer? Yes, I show with my dad, Jim McCartney.
How was your Congress experience? It was great because my goal was to try and win the Youth All-Around saddle since it would be my last Congress as a youth contestant.
Tell us about yourself: I am 19 years old and a sophomore at Western Oklahoma State College. I am a college rode contestant and a 2009 PRCA Great Lake Circuit finals contestant.
Tell us about your horse: Squirt is an awesome horse. He is athletic at everything he tries. I have only been Roping on Wildcat for around six months.
What are your goals for the future? I would really like to qualify for the National Finals Rodeo some day!
