Entry Deadline

All Congress horse show entries MUST BE RECEIVED BY AUGUST 25, 2008. It is recommended that horse show entries be sent by certified mail. The show secretary is not responsible for lost or late entries, and is unable to verify receipt of entries due to the volume of mail received. Entries will not be processed without payments.

Post Entries
For aged events, late entries are accepted, however a
penalty fee of $250 per class, plus all regular class fees will
be charged for aged events.

For all other classes, late entries are accepted, however a
penalty fee of $100, plus all regular fees will be charged.
Post entries can be made at the Horse Show Entry Office.
For Limited Age events, post entries must be received by
12:00 Noon on Friday, October 3.

For entries for weekend classes, post entries must be
received no later than 12:00 Noon the day prior to when
the class is to be shown.

Regular entry fees will be included in the purses. Penalty
payments and cattle charges will not be included in the purse.
All fees paid in excess of the regular entry fee will be considered a
penalty payment.

Refunds
Refunds of entry and stall fee will be given only in the
event of death of the horse entered. A signed and dated vet
certificate must be presented at the entry office no later
than 2:00 p.m. the day before the class entered is to be
shown. Refunds will be mailed after the Congress to the
owner.

Substitutions
A substitution fee of $100 must accompany the request for
substitution. Substitutions must fall within the same class
limitations. Changes must be made before posting of draw.

Identification of Horses
A photocopy of the registration certificate showing
current owners, or a notarized statement of age and
description by a licensed veterinarian and colored
photographs showing all marks of identification or
unregistered horses, must be included with all entries.

Arrival
Cutting horses may arrive any time after 8:00 a.m. on
Thursday, October 2, 2008.

Stalls
Stalls are $150 each, including show horses, using horses
and tack stalls. Every horse, including using horses, must
have a stall. All stalls must be in the owner’s name. Trainers
may pick up stalls if they are paid for in advance.
All horses will be stalled in tents. All exhibitors must report
to the stall office to obtain stall permits. All horses, tack
and feed stalls must be paid for to obtain stickers. Agents,
please have a listing of all horses by the owner’s names.

Non-Pro Aged Events

General Rules
A. Owners may enter more than one horse. Riders may ride
more than one horse where NCHA rules permit. Owners
and riders must be NCHA members.

B. A horse must have the same rider in the go-rounds and
finals. Any changes in riders can be made with the show
manager for dire emergencies only. Changes must be
made before posting of draw.

C. NCHA rules and regulations will prevail in these events
unless specific Congress futurity rules differ from them.
In this case, Congress rules shall prevail.

D. Any dispute as to operation of classes, matters of
protocol, show management issues and all other issues
shall be decided by the show manager.

E. The show manager’s decision shall be final and
considered accepted by exhibitors.

F. The OQHA and the All American Quarter Horse Congress
reserve the right to cancel these events without notice
and without liability any time prior to the contest.
All entry money will be refunded in the event of
cancellation.

Rules for Aged Events Open Futurity, Derby and Classic
$30,000 added to Open Aged Events

A. There will be two go-rounds and a clean slate finals.

B. 60% of the high scoring horses, plus ties, will advance to
the second go.

C. 25% of original entries, plus ties, will advance to finals.

D. All monies will be paid in finals.

E. All finalists will receive back their entry fee and cattle
charge.

F. Top Ten will receive the remainder of the purse by NCHA
payback.

G. $10,000 each will be added to the Open Futurity, Derby
and Classic.

Non-Pro Futurity, Derby and Classic
$18,000 added to Non-Pro Aged Events

A. There will be one go-round and one final.

B. 35% of the high-scoring horses, plus ties, will advance to
the finals.

C. All monies will be paid in finals.

D. All finalists will receive back their entry fee and cattle
charge.

E. Top Eight will receive the remainder of the purse by
NCHA payback.

F. $6,000 each will be added to Non-Pro Futurity, Derby and
Classic.

Specific Non-Pro Conditions
A. Non-pro division riders must be designated at the time
of nomination. The definition of a non-pro is as defined
by the NCHA rulebook.

B. Horses exhibited in this division must meet NCHA nonpro
ownership requirements.

C. Any exhibitor in this event questioning the non-pro
status of another exhibitor may file an objection in
writing with the show manager at least 48 hours
before the contest begins. The show manager, before
the contest begins, will decide whether to sustain or
overrule the objection. The show manager’s decision
shall be final and considered accepted by all exhibitors.

D. Any individual who is determined as not meeting the
NCHA non-pro status shall forfeit all entry fee and cattle
charges.

Practice Cattle
Practice cattle will be available for the Three-Year-Old
Congress Futurity entries only on Friday, October 3, at 12:00
Noon at a charge of $100 for two fresh cows per horse. The
Congress Cutting events will feature a practice pen in the
Overhang. Practice hours will be 6:00 a.m. - ?

Draws
Draws for all aged events, including the Futurity, will be done
at 12:00 Noon on Friday, October 3.

A. Slots will not be sold.

B. Entries must include the horse’s name.

C. Substitutions will be allowed within the division for $100.
All substitutions must be made no later than 12:00 Noon
on Friday, October 3, 2008.

D. Late fees, cattle charges and substitution fees are not
included in the purse.

NCHA drug rules will be strictly enforced.
