Congress Entry Information -
Additional Notes about AQHA Classes

A. Only AQHA rules shall prevail in AQHA-approved classes.

B. Registration papers will be checked. Legible copies showing all required information on papers will be accepted. It is recommended that copies of papers be included with entries.

C. AQHA membership cards will be checked. Anyone exhibiting in AQHA classes must be an AQHA member. Anyone entering an AQHA amateur or youth class must have the appropriate current year AQHA youth or amateur membership card. Novice classes require the youth or amateur membership card to reflect novice eligibility for the appropriate skill set(s) for classes being entered. All card numbers must be included on the entry form. Photocopies will be accepted and it is recommended that copies of the card be included with entries.

D. The Congress WILL NOT ACCEPT NOVICE PERMITS OR LEASES FROM AMATEURS OR YOUTH TO EXHIBIT HORSES NOT MEETING AQHA OWNERSHIP REQUIREMENTS.

E. Due to class sizes and scheduling needs, there could be times when classes will be competing at conflicting times. Exhibitors should alert the gate check-in person at the beginning of any class in conflict so that adjustments to the working order may be made where possible. Show management will make every effort to help exhibitors to show in the classes they have entered, however there may be times where the exhibitor will have to choose which class they prefer to show.

F. AQHA rules specify the maximum number of horses that can be shown in individual work classes (Reining, Western Riding, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Jumping, Working Hunter, Trail, Tie-Down Roping, Dally Team Roping- Heading, Dally Team Roping- Heeling, Team Penning and Cutting). In a junior class, a maximum of two junior horses may be shown. In a senior class, a maximum of two senior horses may be shown. In an all-age class, a maximum of four horses may be shown, as long as a maximum of two junior horses (aged five and younger) and two senior horses (aged six and older) are exhibited. (AQHA Show Rules & Regulations 450m).
