The Ohio Amateur Quarter Horse Association (OAQHA) is teaming up with the Buckeye Western Horse Association (BWHA) to host the 2nd Annual Buckeye Classic July 25-28. The weekend before, OAQHA is parternering with the Ohio Quarter Horse Youth Association (OQHYA) to host The Little Buckeye. Both shows will be held at Eden Park Equestrian Center in Sunbury, Ohio.
At its Annual Meeting on February 2, 2013 the Ohio Amateur Quarter Horse Association announced election results for the new year.

Everyone loves free. However the 2013 Buckeye Classic AQHA show will take free to a whole other level by offering free AQHA amateur, novice amateur and select amateur entries for six judges during the event July 25-28 at Eden Park Equestrian Center in Sunbury, Ohio.

OQHA members were very successful during the Bank of America Amateur World Championship this year, with numerous top 15 placings.
Without a scheduled meeting in July, the Amateurs decided to take advantage of the opportunity and get together for dinner at the new Buckeye Hall of Fame in Grandview. There was much to discuss about some exciting ideas to grow our annual horse show, The Buckeye Classic. This year’s show saw large increases over the last Amateur show, selling 400 stalls.
The Ohio Amateur Quarter Horse Association has always placed an emphasis on community service and has pledged to help the Priest family of Van Wert, after losing their home and belongings to a fire on March 29th. OAQHA has planned two events to assist the family:
The Ohio Amateur Quarter Horse Association is once again holding their annual trainers’ sale. This sale has been a huge success for the Amateurs in the past and we look forward to the continuing help and support from everyone who partakes in the event. We could not do this event with out all of the trainers who are willing to donate their time and talent!

On Saturday December 10th, 2011, members of the Ohio Amateur Quarter Horse Association took time out during the busy holiday season to help the Marines with their annual Toys for Tots drive at Rickenbacker Air Base in Columbus.
